The former Vice president Alhaji Aliu Mahama has denied media reports he intends to contest the Chairmanship of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Newspaper reports last week suggested that the former Vice President was gearing up to vie for the top job in the NPP.
But a close confidant of Aliu Mahama, Alhaji Haruna Atta told Joy News the former Vice President certainly has no such ambitions.
He said Aliu Mahama is still weighing his options as to what role he wants to play next in the country’s political scene.
According to him, if Aliu Mahama is qualified for the NPP Chairmanship, then he is equally fit to gun for the flag-bearership of the party.
The former Vice President is currently on a visit to the United States.
