The Bank of Ghana (BoG) on October 31, 2025, hosted over 250 school pupils from five different schools at the Bank Square in Accra for an exciting and educational event to mark the Cedi@60 celebration.
The programme, which formed part of the Bank’s ongoing financial literacy and public education initiatives, focused on the history and evolution of the Ghana Cedi helping young learners appreciate the nation’s currency and understand its value.
Pupils also took part in fun games and interactive learning activities designed to make the experience both memorable and informative.
Participating schools included Independence Avenue Basic School (1 & 2), St. George’s Anglican Basic School, Bishop Mixed Basic School, Accra Sempe School, and St. Barnabas Basic School.
Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama, addressing the pupils, urged them to take their studies seriously and work hard towards building a brighter future for Ghana.

“You are the future leaders of this country, and it begins with how seriously you take your education today,” he said.
He was joined by the First Deputy Governor, Dr. Zakari Mumuni, and the Second Deputy Governor, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, who also shared words of encouragement and insight with the young attendees.
The day concluded with music, lunch, and smiles all around, creating a joyful atmosphere of learning, legacy, and national pride.
The event underscored the Bank’s commitment to promoting financial literacy, national identity, and responsible citizenship starting with the next generation.
