The Chairman of the newly inaugurated Ghana Goldbod Jewellery Limited Board, Sammy Gyamfi, has pledged to position the state-owned company as Africa’s number one gold jewellery brand.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra, Mr. Gyamfi said the restructured company, backed with GH¢30 million for retooling and rebranding, will focus on gold melting, refining, and the training of local artisans.
“Our goal is clear — to make Goldbod Jewellery Ghana’s pride and the number one jewellery company in Africa,” he affirmed.
Mr. Gyamfi added that Goldbod’s renewed focus on value addition and skills development will not only boost export earnings but also empower local goldsmiths and craftsmen.
He expressed confidence that the new board will work closely with the Ministry of Finance and the Minerals Commission to build a strong, sustainable gold ecosystem for the country.
