Firefighters from the Bekwai Fire Station successfully brought a blaze under control after four rooms at a police quarters were destroyed in Jacobu, near St. Peter’s Preparatory School in the Ashanti Region.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the affected premises bear house number AV-0017-3613. The fire occurred on Wednesday, November 13, and caused significant damage to the property.

With no fire station or fire tender located in Jacobu, the Bekwai team, led by Station Officer II Agyemang Duah, travelled a long distance over challenging roads to reach the scene.
Residents had initially attempted to fight the fire before the firefighters arrived. The team took over the operation, bringing the blaze under control at 12:34 pm and fully extinguishing it by 1:28 pm.

GNFS noted that six of the ten rooms in the building were salvaged, preventing a total loss. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
