The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park has been honored for outstanding Tourism Site and Attraction Development at the 2025 Ghana Tourism Awards.
The park was identified for the impressive transformation of the tourism site into a “world-class historical destination”, serving patrons with a well-detailed education of Ghana’s independence history.
“Your recent redevelopment has elevated the site into a national treasure, which blends heritage, history, and hospitality, attracting thousands from home and abroad”, said the Ghana Tourism Authority
The Ag. Executive Director of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Dr. Collins Rawlings Nunyonameh, expressed excitement about the recognition and dedicated the awards to the entire park team.
“It marks a recognition of our efforts to reposition the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park as a heritage site of choice in Ghana and across the world”, he said.
He added that the awards would inspire them to put in more efforts in projecting Dr. Nkrumah’s legacy; “to make sure his vision, ideas and ideals for this country and Africa ring loud in our everyday thoughts as a people.”
He expressed gratitude to stakeholders and affirmed their commitment to the reset agenda of the National Democratic Congress and the President, John Mahama.
“I take this opportunity to thank the unalloyed support of the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, to our efforts at the Park. I also wish to thank the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Huadjeto, and Chairman of the awards jury and Deputy CEO (Marketing), Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, for the honor done us.”
“We, at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, remain committed to the reset agenda of our visionary President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama; and to ensure that we deliver his vision of the transformation required at the Park”, he said.
