Rhythms On Da Runway is set to celebrate 15 years of African creativity with its 2025 edition, The Black Star Edition, promising a night of fashion, music, and culture at Accra’s historic Christiansborg Castle on Saturday, 6th December, from 6pm.
For a decade and a half, the event has showcased African design, music, culture, and storytelling, giving creatives a global platform while reflecting the bold and unifying spirit of Ghana’s Black Star.
Shirley Emma Tibilla, CEO of Rhythms On Da Runway and known in showbiz circles as Cookie Tee, said, “Fifteen years of Rhythms On Da Runway is a celebration of Ghana, of Africa, and of every creative who has poured their talent into this platform. The Black Star Edition is our tribute to the journey and the culture that continue to inspire us.” She added that individuals and organisations interested in attending can send a short code to 7141957#.
Attendees can expect captivating runway presentations from top designers across Ghana and the continent, including Nineteen57, Masantewaa Emporium, Kokude, Sara Erraissi from Morocco, Jay Ray Ghartey, Marie Kaba from Mali, Paon, SHMBK from Zimbabwe, Cacao/Chocolate, Lempoche Couture, and Tribal Sportswear. The lineup promises bold designs, vibrant craftsmanship, and unforgettable fashion moments.
Beyond fashion, the event delivers a full cultural experience, from a lively red carpet and immersive African ambience to networking opportunities, elevated hospitality, and a visually rich production blending music, storytelling, and style.
The stage will feature performances by King Promise, Kwabena Kwabena, Gyakie, Maya Blu, Kwaw Kese, Nacee, and Oheneba Kissi, offering a mix of contemporary hits, soulful vocals, nostalgic favourites, and the energy of live music.
This edition will also honour notable figures with the Black Star Award for their contributions to African fashion, culture, and creativity. Recipients include Nora Bannerman, Amakye Dede, Efya Awindor, and Idris Elba.
Produced by Nineteen57 Events, Rhythms On Da Runway is recognised as one of Africa’s leading fashion–music showcases. For 15 years, it has united designers, artists, and audiences to celebrate African creativity, with the BBC describing it as “Africa’s biggest cultural exposé.”
