South African rapper Nasty C has listed his top Ghanaian artistes, with Black Sherif leading the pack.
He also named Kwesi Arthur as a favourite, along with American-based Ghanaian rapper Vic Mensa and Shatta Wale, in that order.
The rapper outlined these names in an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes with Roselyn Felli when he was asked to mention his top three favourite rappers in Ghana.
“At the moment, I’ll have to put Black Sherif up there as number 1. There’s something about his music that just speaks to me. I’m going to put Kwesi Arthur at number two. At number three, I’ll have to say Vic Mensa. Between him and Wale.”
In response to why Sarkodie was excluded, Nasty C stated that although Sarkodie ranks in his top five, he doesn’t place him in his top three.
“He’s definitely in my top five but not top three at the moment.”
Nasty C further cleared the air about his ‘beef’ with Sarkodie in 2022, stating that Sarkodie had misunderstood him.
He expressed his willingness to resolve the issue and reconcile.
“A lot of things got lost in translation. I don’t know if he misunderstood it or someone was in his ear and toning the wrong message but his response to the song that I put out was a little spicy,” he said.
