Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Otchere Baafi, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party to strongly rally behind former Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and retain him as the party's flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
Addressing delegates of his constituency in Koforidua yesterday, Otchere Baafi described the 2028 election as crucial, saying it requires a formidable candidate with experience, such as the former Vice-President, to lead the NPP to victory.
"I'm saying that the 31st January election is not a joke. It's a crucial election, and we need an experienced person. We need someone who has been well marketed and is well known by Ghanaians. That person is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia," the MP said.
Otchere Baafi, who recalled Dr Bawumia's loyal service to the NPP during challenging moments, expressed strong confidence in his ability to deliver victory for the party in 2028. He urged party members to continue supporting him and to work hard together for victory.
"Politics is local, so the responsibility lies on all of us at the polling station level. It is a collective responsibility for all. So let us all come together and work hard at the local level for the NPP to reclaim power. And the only person who can help us win easily is the experienced and well-marketed Dr Bawumia."
