Canada based golfer, Rickie Hurtubiase maintained his family latest winning stream in the game of golf after annexing the Gridco Centre of the World Golf Club Championship trophy in Tema.
Rickie, played 229 for three days in a completive round of golf producing 77, 75 and 77 for the final day to beat experienced golfers for the ultimate.
Knowing very the difficulty in playing at the course, Rickie braced himself for the task ahead especially on the last day, maintain his composure, and sealed the victory ahead of Jibril Kassim, Desmond Abban and Frank Torgah who finished with 233, 234 and 234 respectively.

Speaking with a section of the media after receiving his trophy in the presence of his parents, Hurtubiase expressed his excitement on securing the championship top prize and mentioned that his frequent training session paid off.
The golf tournament dubbed the Gridco Centre of the World Golf Club was played in three categories including professionals, scratch and amatuers and saw participation from over one hundred golfers across the country with sponsorship with Ghana Grid Company with support Bel Aqua, Nester Home, Royal Senchi, Zed Multimedia, and The finder.
In the men’s main division Kingsley Okechukwu Landers smiled home with the first prize award beating George Wisbon Mensah Ackah Blay to the second and third places respectively.
In the men’s category A contest Gustave Godonou, Dennis Etwi- Barimah and Charles Kumi whiles the likes of Michael Sackitey 5 Abdallah Andani and Philip Dodu Fynn were triumphant in the men’s group B division of the competition.
Also Patrick Amoah Bekoe , Yaw Asamoah and Cecil Kwatchey were all recognized at the closing ceremony after finishing as first three of the Men’s group C.
In the ladies competition Catherine Fabbi who was in her elements bagged in 74 points for the overall winner ahead of young Hawa Brito and Naomi Teye-Lartey whiles Letitia Amponsah-Mensah secured the category A-winner’s prize beating Floria Hurtubise and Adiatu Tiamiyu.

Patricia Adusei-Poku grabbed the ladies group B-winner’s prize finishing ahead of Angelica Ayanful and Akua Afriyie Tamakloe.
Manessah Augustine and Jessica Tei won the men’s amd ladies professional category of the competition. In the senior’s Samuel Osei Bediako Joshua Preprah Hellen Apau were all recognized for their performance together with some auxiliary prizes.
Captain of the club, Ruben Kwame Kordorwu who was joined by the Akwamuhene, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III for the official ceremonial tee off was well pleased with the turn out for the competition and expressed his gratitude to the sponsors especially Gridco for the assistance.
The Acting Director of the Corporate Strategy Department at Gridco Samuel Kow Acquah who represented his organization at the competition mentioned to the media that the partnership with the Centre of the World Club for the event has been worth it.
