The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced the opening of an overflow car park at the Kotoka International Airport to ease congestion and accommodate increased passenger traffic during the Christmas travel season.
In a statement, GACL said the additional parking facility is located adjacent to the existing Terminal 3 (T3) car park and provides about 300 extra parking bays for passengers and airport visitors.

“The overflow car park has been opened to enhance convenience for passengers and visitors during this peak travel period,” the company noted, as many Ghanaians and tourists travel for the festive season.
According to GACL, parking attendants will be deployed to guide motorists as they approach the airport to ensure smooth traffic flow and easy access to the new parking area.
The move comes as Kotoka International Airport records a surge in passenger numbers during Christmas and New Year, driven by increased domestic and international travel, family reunions and tourism activities.
GACL said the initiative forms part of broader measures to improve passenger experience and manage congestion at the airport during peak periods. “We remain committed to working to serve the needs of the travelling public better,” the company added.
Passengers and visitors have been advised to cooperate with parking officials and follow directions to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience at the airport during the festive season.
