Mr Guggisberg Fiagbenu, the Assembly Member for Adidome Central Electoral Area in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region, has called on the Ghana Roads and Highways Authority in the region to prioritise the rehabilitation of the Atigo Bridge at Battor in his area.
In a letter addressed to the regional office, Mr Fiagbenu commended the authority for its swift action in reconstructing the Sayikorfe Bridge and rehabilitating and expanding the Tsetsekpo Bridge.
However, he noted that for the smooth flow of traffic along the Adidome–Juapong Road, all three major bridges must meet similar standards.
“The three most identifiable bridges on the road must be of the same standard for smooth flow of traffic,” the Assembly Member wrote, appealing for the Atigo Bridge to receive urgent attention and a facelift.
He expressed optimism that the authority would respond promptly, ensuring uniformity and improved safety along this crucial transport corridor.
Mr Fiagbenu’s intervention highlights ongoing efforts by local leaders to improve infrastructure in the Central Tongu District and enhance connectivity for commuters and residents alike.
