Former Ghana captain Andrew Ayew is confident of a successful spell with Dutch Eredivise side NAC Breda.
Ayew has signed a contract until the end of the current campaign, with an option to extend for another season.
Sharing his first words after signing the contract, the 36-year-old said: "I'm someone who really enjoys challenges, both personally and as part of a team. I find that here at NAC. I want to do everything I can to help the club and my teammates. We're in a situation where staying in the Eredivisie is the only thing that matters."
Ayew has not played football since his last appearance for Le Havre against Strasbourg on May 17, 2025, but says he is ready for the challenge.
"The mental aspect is perhaps the most important thing in this situation. Together with our supporters, we must fight this battle head-on in the second half of the season."
NAC Breda are currently bottom of the Eredivise with 13 points from 17 matches and will be counting on Andre Ayew's rich experience to survive the relegation scare.
The former Olympique Marseille and Swansea City star is the latest Ghanaian to have played for NAC Breda's, after Matthew Amoah, Kingsley Boateng, Jeffrey Sarpong (Dutch of Ghanaian descent), Thomas Agyepong, Eric Atuahene, Divine Naah, and Aminu Mohammed.
More recently, Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah have also played for the Dutch side.
