Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has lauded the Ghana Police Service for its enduring professionalism, selfless sacrifices and commitment to maintaining law and order across the country.
He said the Service deserves national pride for sustaining high standards of discipline and dedication over the years, despite the many challenges confronting law enforcement institutions.
The Asantehene made the remarks on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, during a historic courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
“It is fair to say that through it all, the Police Service has maintained a level of professionalism and commitment we should be proud of. Today, we say ayekoo to the Police for faithful service to the nation, ayekoo for your selfless sacrifices, even in the most difficult terrains, and ayekoo for keeping our streets safe,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stated.
He further observed that Ghana continues to enjoy international recognition as one of the safer countries in the region, a reputation he attributed in part to the consistent efforts of the Police Service in safeguarding lives, property and public order.
