Famous Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has finally secured the release of TikToker Eedie Bliss from detention.
Eedie Bliss regained her freedom on Saturday, January 17, 2026, after Mercy Johnson dropped all charges against her following public outcry on social media platforms.
The development came hours after popular social media critic VeryDarkMan criticised the actress and accused her of oppression, noting that defamation is a civil case.
Joining other Nigerians in seeking Bliss’s release from police detention, VeryDarkMan issued an ultimatum to the actress.
A few hours later, VeryDarkMan announced the TikTok creator’s release.
He wrote on his Instagram page: “@MercyJohnsonOkojie, thank you very much, my GREATEST OF ALL TIME, for dropping the case. Moving on, I am buying all defamation cases against Mercy Johnson and her family. The bullying is too much. You all should leave her family alone.”
The Daily Post reports that Eedie Bliss was arrested some days ago over a video she shared on TikTok in December 2025 about Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie.
In the video, the TikTok star alleged that Prince Okojie recently bought a house for his pregnant mistress.
Quoting Cutie Juls as her source, Eedie Bliss further claimed that the actress allegedly connived with the mistress’s house help to cause her miscarriage.
