The Electoral Commission has called an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting as part of preparations for the forthcoming Ayawaso East by-election.
In a notice issued on February 6, 2026, to the General Secretaries of registered political parties, the Commission indicated that the meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at its corporate head office in Accra.
The Commission said discussions at the meeting will centre exclusively on the conduct and organisation of the Ayawaso East by-election.
Political parties have been asked to limit their representation to two delegates each.
The letter was signed by Dr Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Commission responsible for Corporate Services, acting on behalf of the EC Chairperson.
Interest in the Ayawaso East contest has intensified in recent days, largely due to developments within the National Democratic Congress, including allegations of vote buying during its internal parliamentary primary.
