An Accra Circuit Court has remanded eleven persons into police custody for alleged involvement in land guard activities at Akokofoto, Dansoman, Accra.
The accused are Kamal Yussif alias Biker, Asafoatse Abass Seidu, Jacob Lartey alias Lartey Kwei, Adoku Samuel alias Asafoatse, Mohammed Issah alias Galadima, Emmanuel Nii Acquah alias Asafoatse, Iddrisu Akaya Chum, John Afade, Teiko Ofori and Emmanuel Gyemfi Nkrumah.
They have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, engaging in land guard activities and resisting arrest.
The prosecution told the court that the accused resisted arrest, during which Kamal Yussif allegedly punched Chief Inspector Isaac Mbilla on the mouth, injuring his teeth.
The accused pleaded not guilty and are expected to reappear before the court on February 28, 2026.
Defence counsel prayed for bail, but the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer, opposed the application, citing ongoing investigations.
Prosecution said the complainants, Madam Sarah Forkuo, Managing Director of Osamanpa Estate Developers, and Mr John Agyepong, both of East Legon, had secured a Supreme Court judgement placing the disputed land in their possession.
It said on February 16, 2026, the accused allegedly invaded the land with sticks, cutlasses and guns, preventing the complainants and their workers from developing the property.
A distress call was made to the Police Headquarters, and officers dispatched to the scene arrested the accused, who resisted but were eventually overpowered and taken to the Regional Police Headquarters for further investigations.
