The Ghana Police Service has staged a major show of force in the Ayawaso East Constituency ahead of the upcoming by-election, signaling heightened security preparedness before the polls.
The operation, which featured a coordinated route march through the constituency’s principal streets, forms part of broader measures to safeguard peace, law, and order before, during, and after the election.

Heavily armed officers drawn from various police units participated in the exercise, moving in formation through key communities in a visible display of readiness.
The show of force, according to the Police, was intended to reassure residents, deter potential troublemakers, and demonstrate the Service’s capacity to respond swiftly to any security threat.

Residents looked on as the personnel marched through the area, with police vehicles and patrol teams reinforcing the presence on the ground.
The Police Service stated that it remains fully committed to creating a safe and secure environment for voters, candidates, electoral officials, and all stakeholders involved in the by-election process.

Authorities say the increased visibility and patrols will continue in the lead-up to the polls as part of efforts to maintain calm and public confidence in the electoral process.
