Dreams FC gave their survival bid a timely lift with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Aduana FC at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
John Antwi proved decisive for the home side, striking in the 67th minute to end Dreams’ five-game winless run. The skipper kept his composure to punish a defensive slip, and his effort ultimately settled a closely fought contest.
Both teams approached the game positively in the first half but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Aduana controlled possession in phases, while Dreams threatened on the break, yet neither side found the breakthrough before halftime.
Dreams returned from the interval with greater urgency and were rewarded when Antwi seized on a mistake at the back to put his side in front. From there, the hosts stayed compact and disciplined, seeing out the game to claim all three points.
The result moves Winfred Dormon’s men up to 10th on the table, now three points above the relegation zone.
For Aduana, the loss dents their title hopes.
They sit fifth on 38 points, eight adrift of leaders Medeama SC, and are now four league matches without a victory.
Next up in Matchweek 25, Aduana welcome Eleven Wonders, while Dreams FC head to Sambreboi for a clash with FC Samartex 1996.
