President John Dramani Mahama has received an honorary degree from Yonsei University in South Korea in recognition of his leadership, commitment to democratic governance, and efforts to promote international cooperation.
The award ceremony took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 AM Ghana time, according to a Facebook post by the Jubilee House.
The honour underscores the strong and enduring ties between Ghana and South Korea, reflecting a shared commitment to education, innovation, and global partnership.

The honorary degree recognises President Mahama’s distinguished record of public service and his significant contributions to strengthening Ghana’s international relations.
It also acknowledges his efforts in fostering dialogue and collaboration between nations.

President Mahama is on a five-day working visit to South Korea aimed at deepening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for trade, investment, and technological cooperation.

As part of the visit, he commissioned a modern Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vessel on Thursday, March 12, further cementing ties between the two nations in energy and industrial development.
