The Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Gideon Boako, has sponsored free cataract surgery for 95 constituents as part of an initiative to improve access to eye care in the constituency.
According to a post shared by the MP on his Facebook page, the beneficiaries were identified during a recent eye screening exercise organised for residents in the area.
Those who were diagnosed with conditions requiring surgery were subsequently referred for treatment.

Dr Boako noted that a total of 95 people successfully underwent cataract surgery following the screening, enabling them to regain clearer vision and improve their quality of life.
He expressed gratitude to the medical teams and partner institutions that supported the initiative, including the Sunyani Teaching Hospital, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and the Himalayan Cataract Project.

Dr Boako commended the partners for their dedication and support in ensuring the success of the exercise, describing the intervention as an important step toward improving healthcare access for residents in the Tano North Constituency.
