President John Mahama has officially commissioned renowned actress and public figure Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties with Europe.
The brief but significant ceremony, held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, marked the formal presentation of credentials to Mrs. Sinare Baffoe ahead of her diplomatic posting to Madrid.
The appointment signals a blend of cultural diplomacy and international engagement, leveraging her longstanding influence in Ghana’s creative arts space.

In his remarks, President Mahama expressed confidence in the ambassador's ability to effectively represent Ghana’s interests abroad, particularly in the areas of trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
He underscored the importance of deepening bilateral relations between Ghana and Spain, noting that the partnership holds vast potential for economic cooperation and mutual development.
Mrs. Sinare Baffoe, a respected figure in Ghana’s film industry and public service, is expected to bring her wealth of experience, visibility, and interpersonal acumen to the role.
Her appointment has been widely viewed as a strategic move to enhance Ghana’s soft power on the international stage.

As Ambassador, she will be tasked with promoting Ghana’s foreign policy objectives, strengthening diplomatic ties, and facilitating opportunities for investment and collaboration between the two nations.
Her commissioning comes at a time when Ghana continues to expand its diplomatic footprint and reposition itself as a key player in global affairs, particularly through people-centered diplomacy and cultural representation.
Observers say her appointment could further boost Ghana’s image in Spain while opening new avenues for cooperation across sectors, including arts, tourism, and international trade.
