JoyNews is set to host a national dialogue on Ghana’s emergency care crisis, focusing on patients lying on hospital floors, overcrowded Accident and Emergency (A&E) units, and delays that could mean the difference between life and death.
These are not isolated incidents but part of a growing concern within the country’s healthcare system, raising urgent questions about its preparedness to handle critical medical cases.
Why are Accident and Emergency units becoming increasingly congested? Why are some patients forced to receive treatment under such distressing conditions? And most importantly, what does this mean for survival when every second counts?

The JoyNews Thought Leadership Discussion on Ghana’s Emergency Care Crisis will bring together health professionals, policy experts, and key stakeholders to examine the root causes of these challenges and explore practical, sustainable solutions to improve emergency care outcomes.
As Ghana continues to grapple with rising demand on its health system, the forum is expected to provide critical insights into what must change and how urgently, to save lives.
The programme will be broadcast live across multiple platforms:
- Television: Joy News Channel.
- Radio: Joy 99.7 FM and Luv 99.5 FM.
- Online: Live streaming on the JoyNews and Joy FM YouTube channels and all other social media platforms
- The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm.
