National Chairman aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has officially tapped two political heavyweights to spearhead his campaign ahead of the party's upcoming internal elections.
The announcement was made on 3rd April 2026 during a meeting with volunteers aimed at building a formidable party structure to propel Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to victory in the 2028 elections.
In a move signalling a strategic advantage in internal party dynamics and executive governance, Agyarko has appointed:
- Henry Quartey (Campaign Manager): A former Minister for the Interior and Greater Accra Region, and former Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central.
- Joseph Osei-Owusu (Joe Wise) (Senior Campaign Advisor): A former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and former Member of Parliament for Bekwai.
By selecting these two veterans, Boakye Agyarko has signalled his intent to run a grassroots-centred campaign. The appointees bring a combined track record of sharp political acumen and significant national influence to the table.
Both Quartey and Osei-Owusu have expressed a deep conviction in Agyarko’s vision to rebuild, restructure, and rebrand the New Patriotic Party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
While the top leadership has been established, the campaign, through spokesperson Vincent Frimpong Manu, indicated that a comprehensive National Campaign Team, comprising experts in strategy, research, communications, and operations, will be officially inaugurated in due course.
