Melcom Limited has assured customers that it remains committed to ensuring the availability of stocks across its outlets despite a fire outbreak that affected one of its warehouse facilities at the Tema Free Zones enclave.
The company confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday, July 4, 2026, but said measures are being taken to minimise disruptions to its operations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 5, management of the Melcom Group of Companies said although the incident had significantly affected the business, efforts were underway to restore full operations.
“Although this incident has heavily impacted us, we are committed to restoring the operations with minimal interruptions and will do our best to ensure availability of stocks to continue to serve our esteemed customers,” the company stated.

Melcom said its management team is working closely with the relevant authorities to assess the incident and determine the cause of the fire.
“Our management team is collaborating with the relevant authorities as they assess the incident and establish its cause. We are also conducting an internal assessment of the damage and implementing the necessary measures to secure the facility,” the statement added.
The company further confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident.
“We are deeply thankful that there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the incident. The safety and well-being of our employees, partners and surrounding communities remain our highest priority,” Melcom noted.
The retail giant also expressed appreciation to its employees, customers, business partners, stakeholders and members of the public for their messages of concern and support following the incident.
