Veteran Ghanaian gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus have revealed that throughout their remarkable 37-year music journey, they have never considered breaking up or pursuing individual solo careers.
Speaking to Nii Noi on Hitz FM’s Hitz Praise Zone, the award-winning group said their bond goes far beyond music, describing themselves as sisters who genuinely love, respect and appreciate one another.
According to the trio, the gift of music is a divine calling that God entrusted to all three of them, and they have remained committed to serving that purpose together rather than individually.
“Not for once has it ever occurred to us to go our separate ways or pursue solo projects. The talent God gave us was meant for all of us, and we cherish that gift together.”
The group explained that one of the biggest secrets behind their longevity is the mutual respect they have for one another’s unique abilities.
“Each of us sings our part to the best of our ability, and we genuinely appreciate what the other person brings to the group. There has never been any competition among us. Instead, we celebrate each other’s strengths.”
They added that this spirit of unity, love and selflessness has been the foundation of their success, enabling them to remain one of Ghana’s most enduring and respected gospel groups for nearly four decades.
Daughters of Glorious Jesus, made up of Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah, was formed in 1989 and has become one of Ghana’s most influential gospel groups.
Over the years, they have released several popular songs, including Bebre, Nea Yɛhu, Wo Ntaban and Mebo Yesu Din Daa, earning a reputation for their rich harmonies, inspiring lyrics and consistency in gospel ministry.
