Eighteen people sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned at Adele-Kpoe on the Tema–Akosombo Highway on Wednesday, August 5.
The accident involved a Mercedes-Benz bus with registration number AS 427-09, which was travelling from northern Ghana to Ashaiman when it crashed, according to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service.

According to the Service, the bus suffered a front tyre burst while in motion, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The bus subsequently veered off the highway before overturning.
The impact left 18 occupants injured, with one passenger trapped inside the wreckage.

Emergency responders extricated the trapped victim before all the injured were transported to the Akuse Government Hospital for medical treatment. The severity of the injuries has not been disclosed.
