Bawumia gets appointment at Oxford

Former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the NPP’S Vice-Presidential Candidate for the 2008 elections Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been appointed as a Senior Member of St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford. He will be attached to the Department of Economics’ Centre for the Study of African Economies, the world’s leading research institution on African economies. His appointment at Oxford comes after a stint at the University of British Columbia as a Visiting Professor and tenure as deputy Governor at Ghana’s central bank where he contributed, under the leadership of Dr Paul Acquah, to one of the widest ranging financial sector reform programs in Africa during the last decade. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia attended Sakasaka primary and Tamale secondary school and obtained his Bachelor’s (First Class honours), Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from Buckingham University (U.K), Oxford University (Lincoln College), UK, and Simon Fraser University (Canada) respectively.
