The Director of Communications at the Presidency has been ordered to appear before the privileges committee of Parliament.
Koku Anyidoho is reported to have made disparaging remarks about some Members of Parliament (MPs), including the Minority Spokesman on Communications.
Mr Anyidoho is alleged to have described the MPs as “a lot of irresponsible people” in media discussions over comments by New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathiser, Kwame Pianim, that President Atta Mills is incorruptible.
Deputy Minority Leader, Ambrose Derry, complained about the matter in Parliament on Friday morning and called for the Speaker, Joyce Bamford-Addo, to act on it.
The Speaker subsequently declared: “I hereby direct that the matter be referred to the Committee for Privileges for consideration and report to the House.”
Mr Anyidoho is part of the government delegation who accompanied the President to attend the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit.
