A good number of national executive office seekers in the ruling National Democratic Congress, led by Dr. Kwabena Adjei, chairman and Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary, will Tuesday morning mount a common platform to declare their interests.
The venue is the Kama Conference Centre at the Nyaniba Estates.
Kwabena Adjei and Asiedu Nketiah who will be seeking re-election to their respective posts, will be joined by Messrs Ken Dzirassah and Kofi Portuphy of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and Capt. Buta, all NDC stalwarts seeking to be elected as Vice Chairmen.
Other persons known to have expressed interest in the Vice Chairman post are Mrs. Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady, Squadron Leader Clend Sowu and Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah. It is unclear however if they would be part of the ‘mass declaration’.
Other office seekers to be part of the ‘big do’ include Alhaji Nassar for Deputy General Secretary; George Lawson as Second Deputy General Secretary; Yaw Gyan as Organizer and P.K. Abone for Deputy Organizer.
There are also Anita Desouza and Margaret Chiravera for Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer respectively; Peter Otokunor for Deputy Propaganda Secretary and Fred Agbenyo for Youth Organizer.
Sources close to organizers have tagged persons listed to declare at the mass declaration as the likely office holders and expect fraternal goodwill messages and participation of ‘friends’ from other political parties.
The declarations mark the beginning of what is expected to be hectic campaigns for election (and for some re-election) at the NDC’s national congress in January.
