The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Adjei, has assured supporters of the party that he would provide excelling leadership if he retains his position.“I solemnly promise all NDC supporters and sympathizers and indeed all Ghanaians that I can provide sterling leadership qualities that will enable us achieve our objectives, he said, assuring that “I pledge to serve the NDC and mother Ghana if your give me you support to do so."He was speaking at the Kama Conference Centre in Accra on Tuesday during a forum for members of the party to publicly declare their intentions to contest various positions in the party. He declared his intention to re-contest for the National Chairmanship position of the party.Dr Kwabena Adjei noted that the NDC has survived because the party leaders have been focused, united and politically close to the grass root.He stressed the need for the party to be restructured and re-capacitated, hence the ‘2010 Delegates Conference’ which is to be held on the 16th of January, 2010.Dr Adjei urged party members to make informed decisions in choosing who they would put at the helm of affairs.Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who later joined his colleagues at the forum called on all party members to support Dr Kwabena Adjei to retain his position. He, however did not state whether he was going to re-contest his position.By: Dorcas Efe Mensah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
