President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday swore-in Dr Oakley Nii Quaye Kumah, Member of Parliament for Krowor, as Deputy Minister of Health.
He administered the Oaths of Office, Secrecy, Allegiance and Deputy Minister.
President Mills asked him to complement efforts of Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, Minister of Health, to improve health care delivery in the country.
He expressed concern about the attitude of some Deputy Ministers who "flex their muscles" at their sector Ministers, undermine them and cautioned those involved in such attitudes to change for the better.
"Honesty, humility and team play are required to address the challenges in the health sector," President Mills said.
He commended Dr Kumah for his patience and service to people and expressed the hope that his appointment would be a launching pad for greater privileged services.
Dr Kunbuor said with humility and service, Dr Kumah should come on board to assist in addressing the numerous challenges facing the health sector.
