The 2008 presidential candidates of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo, has congratulated the newly elected Greater Accra regional executive of the party.
He said “This is to congratulate you on your election as officers of our great party, in a great region, to serve in diverse ways to ensure that our party wins the votes of the great majority of Ghanaians in 2012. Your election into office is a manifestation of the confidence and trust that the party reposes in you, whilst recognising your commitment, loyalty and service to the cause of the New Patriotic Party.”
A statement signed by the Communications Aide of Nana Addo, Herbert Krapa, noted that “The free and fair nature, and the peaceful outcome of the Greater Accra Regional executive elections, the first regional elections to be held, is only a confirmation of our party’s belief in internal party competition and it is my sincere hope that the conduct of this election will serve a good example for all other regions to emulate, bearing in mind how crucial your region will be in our forward march to victory in 2012.
“I congratulate the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Ishmael Ashitey and the other new executives, with the conviction that you will work hard to ensure the effectiveness of our grass roots mobilisation for the 2012 general elections and beyond.
“I also take the opportunity to thank outgoing executives for their service and commitment to the cause of the party over the years and I edge all who participated in the elections, winners and losers alike, in the true spirit of our party’s tradition, to rally behind elected executives to strengthen our resolve to capture power in 2012, whilst preserving the unity of our party.
May God bless our party, our country and us all,” the statement concluded.
