An aspirant for the position of National Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been killed in a motor accident.Adams Boniface died when a Ford van he was travelling on from Kumasi collided with a KIA cargo truck on the Konongo-Odumase stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway.General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who confirmed the death to Joy News said Mr. Boniface was returning from a joint campaign platform in Kumasi when the accident occurred.About a dozen other passengers on board the Ford vehicle are feared dead but it’s unclear if they were also returning from the joint campaign for persons seeking National Executive positions in the Kumasi.The NDC has slated January 15 for its national delegates congress in the Northern Regional capital Tamale.Nominations for various positions will close by January 11th.100 pick nomination formsMeanwhile, about one hundred aspirants for various executive positions in the NDC have picked up nomination forms.Two people have picked up forms for the chairmanship position. If things remain as they are now, the contest for the position of general secretary’s will also be between two men.Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Baba Jamal, says about 2700 delegates will go to congress on January 15 in Tamale to elect a new executive for the ruling party.He said preparations at the congress venue were far advanced.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
