The Member of Parliament for Bimbila South, Domnic Nitiwul, has advised members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to accept the fact that the party will collapse should founder Jerry Rawlings quit.
“It’s a fact and they must accept that the founder is the heart and soul of their party…” he said.
Mr Nitiwul was reacting to a report in Monday’s edition of the Daily Democrat Newspaper which said that former president Rawlings is unhappy about an alleged show of ingratitude by some leading members of the Mills administration to groups such as the 31st December Women’s Movement for their contributions in helping to bring the NDC back into power.
According to the paper, the former president said he is compelled to voice out his concerns publicly since genuine advice he has given the government has been disrespectfully ignored.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana Programme Monday, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP said if members of the government “continue to joke the way they are joking …2012 will tell.”
He claimed that Mr Rawlings is venting the frustration of many ordinary Ghanaians who put faith in the NDC for a better life but are getting disappointed, advising that “you better listen (to him) or else you will have the shock of your lives.”
