The NDC National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, has cautioned participants of the forth coming National Delegates Congress to desist from any action that could potentially destroy the principles and beliefs on which the party was founded.A statement by the chairman, signed and issued by Mawuko Zormelo, said Dr. Kwabena Adjei “particularly entreats all contestants to the various National Executive Positions of the party as well as delegates to flee the temptation of vote-buying in the light of recent allegations that followed the NDC Youth and Women’s Congresses at Sunyani and Winneba respectively.”Dr. Kwabena Adjei said the party had taken a serious view of the alien practice of “vote-buying, influence-motivated gift-giving” and warned that tight measures would be employed to prevent such democratically-retrogressive incidents at the January 16 National Delegates Congress in Tamale.“While a mechanism is being put in place to address matters arising from the Sunyani and Winneba Congresses with the view to preventing their future recurrence, the party Chairman said potential culprits at the Tamale Congress will risk severe sanction including arrest and prosecution”.He wished all participants including the media, representatives of other political parties, the diplomatic corps and observers, a safe journey to and from the Congress venue in Tamale.Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
