Chiefs of the Agona traditional area have lifted a ban on the burial of Muslims in the area.
The council has also given the Muslims in the area the go-ahead to start trading again with indigenes of the area.
Muslims were barred from burying their dead and trading with the indigenes after recent communal clashes left two people dead.
But the council now says the Muslims can go about their usual activities in the community.
By this, people from the Zongo community are free to bury their dead and transact business with the indigenes and do some other things they were barred from during the ban.
The traditional council considered an appeal by the Zongo chief, leading to the lifting of the ban.
The Zongo chief in his plea said some of his people were dead but their bodies could not be buried as a result of the ban.
The ban followed some disturbances that ensued between the community and the indigenes of Agona Swedru which also led to property running into millions destroyed.
An eight-member committee, chaired by the immediate vice chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Rev Prof. Emmanuel Addo-Obeng, has been inaugurated.
The committee will identify and assess the extent and the cost of damage, investigate the conduct and alleged traditional breaches of some security patrols and make appropriate recommendations.
