Newly-elected New Patriotic Party (NPP)executives in the Upper East Region have issued a 48-hour ultimatum to their predecessors to return missing party property.Cars, motorbikes, television sets, and unspecified amounts of money belonging to the regional branch of the NPP cannot be traced. The new executives say they will refer the matter to the national office if their predecessors fail to account for the missing items.General Secretary of the NPP for the Upper East Region, Joseph Kpenka, said the party will ensure that it retrieves all the missing property.“If I have detected that, maybe, there is container that is supposed to be in the party office and it is not available, I’ll just ask the outgone executives to come and explain to me where the container is. It’s not a difficult thing to do, that’s why we’ve given [them] 48 hours,” he said.“If they are able to give us satisfactory responses, the issue ends there; if they are unable to [do that], then we’ll find other alternative means of getting a solution to the problem.”Meanwhile the immediate past Secretary of the regional branch of the NPP, Mahmoud Mahama, says the old executives have no party property in their possession. He said claims by the current regional executives are “out of place,” adding that there is ample explanation for the absence of some of the items being requested by the new executives.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
