The Executive Forum (YEF), an advocacy and lobby group within the New Patriotic Party, has commended the leadership of the party for a successful organisation of the polling station and constituency elections for over 120,000 officers.
A press statement issued by the group extended members' felicitations and congratulations to the Executives and members of the Party "for the fortitude and tenacity in upholding and sustaining the fundamental principles and general tenets of democracy by successfully conducting elections in over 21,000 polling stations in Ghana.
“The process is fully in tune with the Party's democratic credentials and traditions that have been nurtured to maturity over the years. Democracy means competition and often times a very fierce one for most offices and positions. But underlining this is the principle that there will always be winners and losers at the ballot box but no losers afterwards because there is only one Party - the NPP. Consequently, the minority ought to accept the decision of the majority and rally behind the common goal of winning the general elections."
The statement urged all delegates attending the forthcoming delegates conference on Saturday to exhibit these same traits and to elect capable leaders who will steer the affairs of the party.
“As the Party goes to conference, the Executive Forum wishes to commend these same principles to all delegates and contestants in furtherance of the common goal."
