Pollster Ben Ephson has warned of dire consequences in the NPP should one faction within the party sweep all position being contested for in Saturday's Conference. The Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper told Joy News’ Dzifa Bampoh that tension within the party is at a fever pitch and urged the delegates to adopt a ‘skirt and blouse’ approach when voting on Saturday, to ease tension and preserve the unity of the party.“It is going to be interesting to see if the NPP delegates will vote like the way the NDC delegates did in Tamale. You take one faction as the substantive; you take somebody else at the deputy and vice-versa.”“… if one split clears most of the positions, there could be problems," he warned. The party, real or imagined, is said to be hugely divided along two factions- the Nana Akufo-Addo camp and the Alan Kyerematen camp and that has created deep-seated controversy.Even though some political party watchers believe the division is not unusual and healthy for competition, others say it is a recipe for disaster and could break the front of the party, as happened in 1979.Ben Ephson believes the NPP delegates must learn from their colleagues in the NDC.
