A youth group calling itself the Patriotic Youth Front (PYF) has congratulated newly-elected national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).The PYF, which describes itself as a coalition of youthful individuals within the NPP fraternity committed to the Danquah-Busia tradition, said the successful election indicates the party is on the road to victory.“This, indeed, forms a refreshing moment and sets the pace for the forward movement of our great party. In view of the internal wrangling and tension, which preceded the congress, members of our great tradition were able to ensure a peaceful and successful conclusion.“We also wish to thank delegates who travelled from far and near, to give meaning to the democratic credentials of our great tradition.“To contenders who lost the election, we say to them better luck next time. However, the train does not stop there; we hope, they will continue their selfless struggle in pursuing the interests of the party, though congress decided otherwise,” the statement said. The coalition also congratulated the immediate past national executives of the party led by Mr Peter Mac Manu “for keeping faith with the party over the years and deepening the democratic process of our tradition by expanding its electoral college, a legacy the foot soldiers of our party will forever be grateful to have.”“It is our hope the new executives, led by the able Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, will work in camaraderie and display a high level of commitment, selflessness and hard work in uniting the rank and file of our party to ensure victory in 2012.“Lastly, we urge all party loyalists and sympathizers to forego every bitterness or rancor and fully support the new national executives whole-heartedly and work extremely hard in recapturing political power in 2012,” the statement said.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
