A leading member of Tamale based NDC Azorka boys, Mohammed Ayuba, has responded to the resolve of Alhaji Moctor Bamba, to form a counter group called the Bamba boys to counter them.
The Azorka boys, an NDC youth group based in Tamale is accused of being behind the frequent acts of intimidation of NPP supporters especially during elections.
In an interview with Citi News on Monday, March 1, the Newly elected National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Moctor Bamba stated his intention to form a group within the NPP called the Bamba boys to squarely match the intimidations of the ruling NDC’s Azorka Boys.
He explained that the Bamba Boys would be tasked with the cardinal responsibility of protecting the interest of the NPP party at all times, particularly during elections.
According to the NPP’s Organizing Secretary, the Bamba Boys would match the Azorka boys boot for boot if they do not stop terrorizing people in the country.
“If the Azorka boys of Tamale who are being transported to by elections areas to intimidate and terrorize people are not stopped…then the Bamba boys will come out also to defend the boys of Bamba.
“There should be free and fair grounds so that everybody can all go about his duties without any fears and intimidations during any elections”. He added.
In a sharp rebuttal however, Mohammed Ayuba, the commander of the Azorka boys dismissed the ‘threats’ of Bamba saying they will deal with him anytime he starts any trouble.
“What I am telling him is that since he has violence in his mind then anytime we meet anywhere he can try and see what we would do to him. We will not beat up his boys but we will beat him instead”.
He added that the Azorka boys is an NDC youth organization who seek to protect the interest of the party and not to create chaos and terrorize people as perceived by Alhaji Bamba.
“We are law abiding youth I don’t know why he continues mentioning Azorka boys, Azorka boys I don’t know what we have done…Azorka is an NDC youth association and we are all men not boys…and we do not hurt or intimidate people, we are not mad,” Ayuba said.
