The first Nasara Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra Region was inaugurated at Zenu in the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency over the weekend.
Alhaji Fuseini Maiga, National Chairman of the council, who swore the executives into office called on them to close their ranks and work hard to ensure the party’s victory in Election 2012.
He said the task ahead was herculean if the NPP was to regain power in the 2012 polls.
Alhaji Maiga urged them to remain committed and dedicated to the course of the party.
The National Chairman asked Moslems of the NPP who had not registered with Nasara to do so in order that with a united front, victory would not elude the party.
Mr Mohammed Adjei-Sowah, Regional Secretary of the NPP, urged members to work hard to redeem its image in the Zongo communities in order to win back power in 2012.
Mr Georga Noye, Constituency Chairman of the party, said the constituents were bent on winning the constituency seat for the NPP for the first time in 2012, reminding members of their commitment and dedication to make the feat possible.
On the election of a presidential candidate for the party, Mr Noye declared: “We shall be fair to all aspirants, and give equal and unbiased attention to their messages.”
He urged members to guard against the formation of fan clubs in support of the aspirants, and pledged the delegates’ resolve to remain united before, during and after the presidential primaries.
Mr Muntakilu Bashiru, Co-ordinator of the 12-member Constituency Nasara Executive, pledged the executives’ determination to work hard to ensure resounding victory for the NPP in the next general elections.
