Constituency Executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the Agona West District of the Central Region have petitioned President Mills to sack the Municipal Chief Executive of the area.
A copy of the petition is also before the National Executive Committee of the party for consideration.
The executive are accusing Mr Jacob Obeng Forson of nepotism and corruption.
Speaking to Joy News on the matter, the Constituency Propaganda Secretary of the party, Kofi Daewoo claimed the MCE appointed his son to head Zoomlion operations in the district, and his wife as a caterer for the assembly.
“We are saying the MCE has violated our procurement laws,… by a appointing his wife to be the one in charge of all catering and refreshment services at the assembly without recourse to tender processes,” Daewoo charged.
He alleged Mr Forson “has an arrangement with the assembly by which he is paid GH¢2, 500 every from the proceeds of toilet [facilities].”
The Propaganda Secretary said they had evidence to back the claims.
But the MCE, Mr Forson denies the charges.
He however will not speak to the specific allegations.
