The Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Kwaku Adu-Yeboah, has cautioned the youth of the party against the violence and lawlessness they have become notorious for.Mr Adu-Yeboah is unhappy with the increasing wave of violent seizures of public offices by supporters of the ruling party.Last week, some youth of the party in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District locked up the offices of the National Health Insurance Scheme accusing management of corruption.Four of the leaders were arrested when they handed over the keys to the offices to the police.Mr Adu-Yeboah told Joy News the party will not shield anybody who engages in violent acts and will be dealt with according to the law.With those comments, the regional chairman joins a tall list of party gurus, including president Mills who have condemned the youth for taking the law into their own hands and terrorizing other citizens.“We have leadership, we have structures and if you believe in the party, if you believe that you are members of this party that has formed the government, then it is incumbent upon you to follow the party guidelines [in addressing your grievances]” he stated.Meanwhile the four who were arrested at Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa last week have been granted bail.The police say they could not keep them in custody until the holidays are over because the courts don’t sit on holidays.The Central Regional Police Commander, ACP Kwame Kampara, told Joy News the four will be arraigned before court on Tuesday.Story by Malik Abass Daabu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
