The youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been urged to work with renewed commitment and total dedication to help bring the party back into power in 2012.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Kwabre West Constituency Chairman of the party, made the call in separate interactions with the youth during a special football gala competition played in some selected communities in the constituency.
Odeneho Appiah said they should intensify the political education campaign in their various communities, and suggested that they undertook communal activities that would make the NPP more attractive to win more supporters.
The football matches formed part of the strategy by the constituency chairman to invigorate the party’s youth and broaden the party’s appeal to the young people.
It provided the platform for sharing ideas and adoption of effective campaign strategies to recapture political power.
Mr Appiah said the youth, who constituted the bulk of the party’s foot soldiers needed to be well resourced, in terms of information and campaign messages, to enable them to become effective.
He advised them to desist from acts that could create image problems for the NPP and said there was the need for them to channel their energies towards helping to expand the support base of the party.
The gala matches are being played in five zones in the constituency, with the climax on July 1, 2010, to commemorate Republic Day.
