Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Randy Abbey has described as false, reports that Laryea Kingston attempted to assault coach Milovan Rajevac after the latter dropped him from the Black Stars squad for the World Cup.
Reports have been rife in the Ghanaian media over attempts by Laryea Kingston to assault Milovan Rajevac after he was dropped from the squad.
Sports Journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah told Joy Sports his sources within the Stars camp had confirmed the scuffle between Laryea and the coach and described the action as unfortunate.
Ace commentator Kwabena Yeboah was equally disappointed with the alleged reaction, describing it as "reprehensible," and called on the player to issue an unqualified apology to the coach and the entire team.
But in an interview with Joy FM's Super Morning Show host, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey said the reports are "fabricated" and "concocted."
Even though he admitted that Laryea Kingston was disappointed with the news of his axing, "truth is truth; and false is false," "Laryea Kingston did no such thing as is being reported in the media" Randy Abbey emphasised.
He challenged Yaw Ampofo Ankrah to name the source of the story adding he (Randy)was present when Kingston was informed and could confirm Kingston did not insult the coach or attempt to physically manhandle him.
He said the GFA would rather concentrate on building a winsome side for the Black Stars and would not be distracted from this discredited and fabricated story.
