Christmas and New Year is a season of love, regardless of the argument about its origin, Christians believe the messiah was born during this season and thus the celebrations.

Even in our traditional circus, the birth of a child brings joy and family as well as friends share gifts to mark the birth.

So it is not surprising for individuals or groups making various forms of donations during this season.

It is in this same light that members of the LoveSprings Charity Foundation paid a visit to the Rising Star Orphanage at Dodowa to spend the day and donate to the orphanage.

The orphanage which was founded 30 years ago by Madam Victoria Samson is considered under resourced in Shai Osu Doku District by social welfare standards. It caters for orphans from as little as six months to 25 years.

During LoveSpring’s visit to the orphanage, the children were treated to Christmas carols, karaoke session, dance competition, indoor games and many more.

It was a joyous sight to see members and volunteers of the LoveSprings Charity Foundation competing in sack race, lime and spoon as well as some circle games with the children.

There was a break out session where the orphans were given some bible lessons and encouraged to take their studies seriously.

The visit and presentation is the first activity of the Foundation and it was done in fulfillment of their desire and quest to help improve the standard of living of less privileged kids and youth.

Items donated included bags of rice, cooking oil, cartons of milk and Milo, bags of gari and sugar, drinkables, clothing and shoes, sardines, toiletries etc.

President of the Foundation, Christabel Hese who donated the items on behalf of the entire foundation said all fortunate persons in society owe the less privileged a duty to provide for them.

She further indicated that many of such acts will be replicated in similar orphanages across the country in the coming years.

She added that mentorship and re-skilling projects for less fortunate youth will be rolled out soon.

The head of the rising star orphanage also expressed their profound gratitude for the kind gesture.
