Quincy Owusu-Abeyie says he is more than determined to hoist the flag of Ghana after being offered another opportunity in the Black Stars by Milovan Rajevac.
The winger who blew his first chance with the Ghana boss in his first game in charge back in September 2008 in Libya due to indiscipline and an incredibly poor display is back in favour with the Serbian and determined to make the most of it.
Quincy did not play for Ghana since that qualifier in Libya but returned to face Holland whom he once represented at Under-20 level last Tuesday and scored in Ghana's final warm up game against Latvia last Saturday.
He wants more of such moments with the national team on the biggest stage in world football and admits he was never sure he would be party of Ghana's campaign.
"To be fair I didn't have an idea I will be involved but wherever I was I was working and hoping the manager will give me a call," Quincy told KickOffGhana.com. He called me for the 30 man squad and I showed him what I am capable of and now I am in the final 23 for the tournament so I am just delighted to be a part of it."
"Preparations are looking good and everyone is fit. It feels great. I have missed the team, I have missed the atmosphere and I have missed the players so I am happy to be here."
But being happy to be back is not enough for the Qatar based winger.
"Hopefully I will have telling impact and create some good opportunities for the team down the wings. I have never been involved in the World Cup before so you can imagine how eager I am. We also have a strong team so I am excited," he said.
"We just have to take it game at a time. We have Serbia first and if we stay focused, we have a good team and good team spirit that should get us through."
