Turn out at the on-going voter registration exercise has improved, that’s according to EC officials coordinating the exercise. The registration exercise, which began on Friday, suffered a low turnout because it was overshadowed by the opening of the World Cup tournament in South Africa. However, when Joy News visited some of the centres in the capital this morning there were long queues with many electorates waiting to be attended to.Meanwhile, in Cape Coast, Joy News correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko reported that the exercise is slow. The situation is similar in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.Joy News correspondent Joseph Osei reported earlier Saturday is not any faster there. The 10-day exercise is aimed at ensuring that Ghanaians who have attained the voting age of 18 years are able to register during elections.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
