John Mensah insists his body can take the rigors of the world cup as Ghana's opening day of the competition approaches.
The Sunderland defender whose problems with injuries this season are well documented but Ghana has stuck by him and Milovan Rajevac has been relieved he came through warm up games against Holland and Latvia unscathed.
But the World Cup stage is different with a lot more at stake and against a physical Serbia side in Pretoria, Mensah's staying power will be tested again.
He is confident though that he will come through.
"I feel really good and fit for the game. I have put myself through a demanding schedule but it's been worth it and I am eager to just go out there and play," he told KickOffGhana.com.
Mensah feel its fundamental too that Ghana starts the campaign on a winning note.
"Three points on Sunday will be the perfect way to start. Then we will take off the pressure but we know it's against a very good team with top level players. What we also know is that we have more than enough ability as a team to be able to win. We are choosing to concentrate on that."
